Days out with children: Hotham Park Bognor Regis review

Hotham park is a great and relatively cheap way to spend a day if you are near Bognor Regis on the south coast.

It’s a surprisingly large space – 22 acres – given its town centre location and is also close to the beach. We visited one day in 2019 when we were staying in an AirBnB in Bognor Regis and wanted something to do one day with a friend and our daughter who was almost 18 months old at the time.

There are paths to follow that will take you to a play area, or some open grass spaces, greenery and flowers to enjoy (including tropical plants) and a café with outdoor seating that did really good ice cream.

There was a boating lake and also a very good miniature golf course (or crazy golf as it’s also known) with some very good obstacles, including getting your ball over a little stream next to a waterfall. It’s been a while since I had played crazy golf but it really stood out to me as a good course with the right level of difficulty and some impressive backdrops. We spent quite a long time playing crazy golf with our daughter asleep in her buggy!

The best part was probably the miniature railway, which my daughter really enjoyed until she fell asleep part way through! For just a few pounds you can take a trip around the park; you can leave buggies on the platform (accessed by a gate and fence so they should be safe) as you return to the same point where you started.

We had a fun afternoon and I would definitely recommend a visit to Hotham park.
